This site is produced by the Foundation for Informed Medical Decision Making (FIMDM). We're a non-profit organization dedicated to ensuring that patients understand their choices, and have the information they need to make sound decisions affecting their health and well being.

To accomplish our mission, we:

•	Promote understanding and adoption of informed medical decision-making.
•	Organize and frame medical evidence in an unbiased manner to help patients evaluate their options, particularly in cases where differences in individual preferences and perspectives are likely to affect personal choice.
•	Sponsor research to expand knowledge of how to improve decision quality in health care.

We do not accept funding from any source with a financial interest in any particular approach to testing or treatment. We believe that truly informed medical decisions can only result when trusted medical evidence is combined with a patient’s own perspective and values.
