Through a joint effort with Health Dialog, the Foundation funds an initiative to support shared decision-making in Breast Cancer Centers across the United States.
The breast cancer Shared Decision Making Programs were developed by the Foundation in collaboration with a nationally recognized team of experts. They cover five major decisions that women with breast cancer may face in a comprehensive and easy to understand manner. The programs feature many breast cancer survivors who talk about their experiences and how they came to select their treatment.
This initiative is directed by Dr. Karen Sepucha and staff in the Health Decision Research Unit at Massachusetts General Hospital. As part of the project, health providers are able to receive a limited number of the programs to use with their patients. Please contact bcaprogram@fimdm.org if you would like to learn more about this initiative.
Please contact bcaprogram@fimdm.org if you are a provider and would like to use the programs with your patients. Patients, please request copies through your providers.
