Research

The Foundation sponsors many important research projects on the value and effectiveness of informed medical decision-making. We provide funds to study topics such as:

Practical applications of decision support in health care delivery.

Literacy and media analysis of decision support materials.

Legal and economic implications of informed medical decision-making.

National surveys to assess the state of medical decision-making.

Through these research efforts, FIMDM gathers information to analyze the impact of health care decision support from several perspectives. This continual learning process helps to guide the direction of the Foundation’s efforts, and encourage others who are working to improve decision quality.
