Earlier this month we announced the conclusion of our exclusive commercial relationship with Health Dialog. Since the founding of Health Dialog in 1997, we have had a fantastic relationship with them, allowing us to develop and distribute decision aids and get them into the hands of patients worldwide. Over the years, our partnership provided us with many opportunities, including the ability to fund our demonstration site project that led to the collection of priceless insights on real-world implementation of shared decision making. This partnership allowed us to fund countless research projects on topics ranging from effective methods of presenting health information and risk data to the quality of health care decisions. Everything we’ve learned from these research initiatives has gone right back into developing high quality, evidence-based decision support materials for patients and providers.
The ending of our exclusive relationship will allow us both to further pursue opportunities to support shared decision making implementation. Collaboration between the Foundation and Health Dialog will certainly not come to end, and we look forward to working together in the future to ensure patients are fully informed and involved in their health care decisions.
We are very grateful for the healthy 16 year partnership with Health Dialog, and their parent company Bupa that has allowed all three organizations to help patients around the world make the decision that’s right for them. We at the Foundation will continue our mission of informing and amplifying the patient’s voice in health care decisions in all the work we do.
