For the third year in a row, the Foundation will be hosting Shared Decision Making (SDM) Month this March! This year is especially exciting, as it is the first SDM Month since we merged with Healthwise, bringing our 65 years of combined expertise and experience to this initiative. We will celebrate the month with a variety of activities, including webinars, blog posts, an author discussion, a giveaway, and a tweet chat. A key component of SDM Month is the collaboration—pulling together experts from around the world to bring shared decision making to mainstream health care. Our SDM Month contributors are at the forefront of transforming health care in their individual fields, and we can all benefit from their firsthand knowledge in making shared decision making a reality.
As health care delivery continues to evolve, we see many critical opportunities for shared decision making to positively impact the care experience. To reflect some of these opportunities, our SDM Month activities this year will focus on four themes:
